Best Time To Visit Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is a stunning natural playground with its namesake crystal clear lake, snowy mountains, lush forests, and lovely beaches.

The beautiful town of Tahoe City nestles along the lake’s northwest shore, offering visitors unparalleled outdoor recreation.

Although the region is beautiful year-round, Lake Tahoe has two primary seasons.

Those are winter and summer. Most visitors base their decision on recreational activity.

Winter is all about skiing, while summer offers mountain biking and water sports.

It all comes down to whether you want to spend time on the lake or in the mountains.

Summer peaks in July and August when visitors swarm the lake and beaches.

When the snow comes, skiers take to the mountains. They usually stay until the snow melts.

If you aim for lower crowd levels and more affordable prices, visit during shoulder season.

These are March through May and September through November.
