GUIDE For New River Gorge National Park

New River Gorge  National Park is located in West Virginia and there are so many adventures to explore.

Although New River is one of North America’s oldest rivers, the park is America’s newest national park, established in December 2020.

Hiking

The park offers everything from a 0.25-mile flat path to a 7.0-mile course consisting primarily of steep terrain.

 Scenic Drive

Take a 83 mile scenic drive along the park’s winding roads, where you gain different vantage points of the rim and gorge.

White Water Rafting

New River delivers thrilling adventure with its white water rafting expeditions.

Mountain Biking

One of the most popular destinations for mountain biking in the eastern United States.

Climbing

With more than 1,400 established climbing areas ranging from 30 feet to 120 feet in height, the park is one of America’s most popular climbing spots.

Bridge Day

West Virginia’s biggest one-day festival, on the third Saturday in October, where you can traverse the longest, single-span steel arch bridge in the western hemisphere.

At 3,030 feet long and 876 feet above the canyon, the New River Gorge Bridge is not for the faint of heart.
