Petrified Forest National Park is a surreal world that is really two parks in one.

The north is mostly painted dunes and badlands.

The south is more heavily littered with stone logs.

Petrified Forest

The park's main road is 28 miles long.

There are plenty of stops and short hikes where you can get a close view of petrified logs.

You will see The Tepees next to the main road.

Blue Mesa Trail is a short hike with beautiful scenery.

Part of iconic Route 66 runs through the park.

The Wigwam Motel is close to the park.

It is the inspiration behind the Cozy Cone Motel in the Disney/Pixar film, Cars.

Petrified Forest National Park is a unique experience.
