There is no better way to relax than to bask in breathtaking scenery and savor tasty fare. With pristine beaches and delicious local cuisine, your troubles will melt away on a St. George Island vacation.

Regarding vacation, I do not mind making an occasional meal. However, preparing meals can quickly send relaxation packing, causing you to feel like you are no longer on vacation.

Imagine spending an evening with a private chef who will craft a menu tailored to your tastes and preferences. It’s an exceptional experience that will elevate your vacation to new heights.

Meet Chef Ian Williams

Chef Ian Williams has lived in the Florida Panhandle for 25 years. He is a private chef who serves the areas of St. George Island, Cape San Blas, Port St. Joe, and Mexico Beach.

The name of his business says it all: Your Table! Your Chef! That’s right. Williams cooks, serves, and cleans up so you can fully relax and enjoy a memorable evening in the comfort of your vacation rental.

Becoming a Private Chef

When asked about his journey as a chef, Williams says, “I love food and art. Being a chef was the only career choice for me and the only career that I have had for 35 years.”

He elaborates on how he moved into the private chef sector, “I really got exhausted managing employees with limited experience, skill set, and passion. My wife came up with the idea of working only for myself. I quit my job and gave it a go. I’m so glad that I did! I knew that I had to go all in for it to work.”

Sharing His Passion

When asked what he loves about St. George Island, Williams excitedly says, “The laid-back, super chill island vibe!” He transitions to what he enjoys most about his work, “I love the wonderful people that I meet on a daily basis. I have as much fun as the clients do!”

Williams has a genuine enthusiasm for the area, people, and food. You can sense his passion as he describes what he is preparing for you. It feels like a casual conversation with a dear friend.

What to Expect from a Meal with Chef Ian

Williams remarks, “My clients can expect a “turn-key five-star” dining experience prepared in their home by a chef. Beautiful tablescapes, great aromas, delightful conversations, and wonderful tastes are a few examples of what my experience delivers. I accommodate anywhere from 2 to 20 people. I only do small private dinner parties.”

What’s on the Menu?

Williams offers seafood, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, beef, and surf and turf options. You will discover dishes influenced by Asian, French, Spanish, and Italian cuisines. He states, “I source most of my ingredients from local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen. I only use fresh local ingredients, never frozen.”

When asked about his favorite dish to create, Williams says, “Sous vide red wine braised short ribs. I love the technique; the flavor is rich and wonderful.”

He elaborates on his creative process, “I view the kitchen as a laboratory, and I am always experimenting with different ingredients and spices.”

Our Experience

Chef Ian treated us to a three-course fine-dining experience. Our appetizer was a crispy wonton with a tripletail in a teriyaki sauce. The entree was a yellow-edge grouper filet with lemon basil cream sauce and parmesan risotto. For dessert, we savored Tupelo honey creme caramel with homemade vanilla honey whipped cream.

Every dish danced across our taste buds. From start to finish, it was one of the best meals we have ever had.

Chef Ian shares his passion and is a delightful conversationalist. We will never forget being pampered by a private chef and having a fine dining experience in our vacation rental.
