Universal Stella Nova Resort Review: A Cosmic Stay Steps from Epic Universe

The Universal Stella Nova Resort is a shimmering new addition to Universal Orlando’s hotel lineup—and it might just be the best value in the galaxy. While it’s not the fanciest resort we’ve stayed in, it delivers where it counts: comfort, convenience, immersive theming, and a location that’s practically in orbit around Epic Universe.

A First Impression That Shines

From the moment you arrive, Stella Nova makes a statement. The exterior glistens with 144,000 hand-placed tiles, catching the Florida sun and casting a cosmic glow. Inside, the space-themed design continues with glowing accents, deep-space color palettes, and a third-floor hallway that feels like you’re walking beneath a confetti of stars.

It’s not just pretty—it’s playful. The theming is consistent throughout the resort, from the lobby to the elevators, and it sets the tone for a fun, otherworldly stay.

Location: Walk or Shuttle to Epic Universe

Stella Nova sits just across the street from Epic Universe, offering one of the shortest walks to the park—second only to its sister hotel, Helios Grand. While a complimentary shuttle is available, we found the 5-minute walk easy and enjoyable. Traffic lights make crossing the main road a breeze, and the anticipation builds as you approach the gates.

From our room, we could even see the Burning Blade Tavern blaze in the distance—a fiery beacon from the Dark Universe land that had us counting down the minutes to park opening.

Rooms: Clean, Comfortable, and Cosmic

The rooms are modern and efficient, with two queen beds, a small fridge, a coffee maker, and subtle space-themed decor. Ours had a view of Epic Universe, which added to the excitement. While not luxurious, the room was clean, quiet, and comfortable—perfect for recharging between park days.

Storage is smartly designed, and the layout makes the most of the space. It’s everything you need for a theme park trip, without the fluff you don’t.

Dining: From Grab-and-Go to Stellar Cocktails

You won’t go hungry at Stella Nova. Dining options include:

  • Cosmos Cafe & Market – A quick-service spot offering American classics like burgers, paninis, fried chicken, and pasta. We grabbed breakfast here and loved the French toast with mixed berry compote. I also had a bowl of oatmeal with bananas and nuts—nothing fancy, but hearty and satisfying.
  • Galaxy Bar & Grill – Poolside dining with burgers, quesadillas, salads, and snacks like pretzels and wings. Perfect for a midday break or casual dinner.
  • Nova Bar – The sleek lobby bar serves craft cocktails with smoky, space-inspired flair. One of their drinks even made our Epic Universe favorites list—and that’s saying something, considering it’s not even inside the park.
  • Pizza Delivery – Available nightly from 5 p.m. to midnight, perfect for winding down after a long day.

Whether you’re fueling up for rope drop or winding down under the stars, the food and drink options hit the mark.

Amenities: Pool, Games, and Galactic Vibes

The 10,000-square-foot pool is a refreshing escape from the Florida heat, surrounded by palm trees and plenty of lounge chairs. There’s also:

  • A hot tub and splash pad for kids
  • Game room with arcade-style fun
  • Fitness center
  • Fire pit and lawn games like Connect 4 and table tennis
  • Universal Studios Store for souvenirs, snacks, and essentials

At night, the resort hosts poolside movies, which feel perfectly on theme beneath the night sky. And don’t miss the third-floor hallway—a hidden gem that feels like walking through a galaxy.

Value and Verdict

Stella Nova isn’t trying to be a luxury resort—and that’s its strength. It’s a Prime Value hotel that delivers on its promise: a clean, comfortable, and fun place to stay with stellar theming and unbeatable proximity to Epic Universe.

Whether you’re traveling with kids, friends, or flying solo, it’s a solid choice. The theming is immersive, the amenities are plentiful, and the location is hard to beat.

And whether you’re planning to master spells inside the Ministry of Magic or jump into your favorite Nintendo game in Super Nintendo World, Universal Stella Nova Resort is the perfect launchpad—no matter which epic land calls to you.
